President of the Health Tourism Council Ahmet Savaşan published a message on March 8, International Women's Rights Day.
Underlining that our country has not yet reached the desired level on issues such as women abuse, violence against women and gender discrimination, Savaşan emphasized the need to identify the existing deficiencies in the fields of ensuring gender equality, women's full and effective enjoyment of equal opportunities, prevention of violence against women and girls with a realistic perspective and to eliminate them as soon as possible.

“The main goal should be to further strengthen the social position of women and girls,” Savaşan said, pointing out that the role of women in society is one of the most important indicators of the level of development of countries.

She underlined that the United Nations, with its 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, has demonstrated that there is an important link between the empowerment of women and girls and the fight against poverty, development and prosperity, and underlined that women should have equal rights in terms of wages, decent work and working environment, right to housing, right to vote and be elected.

“Strengthening the position of women in social life and eliminating violence against women and girls is also an obligation required by our human values and our culture founded on respect for women,” Savaşan said, noting that the economic empowerment of women is the basis of development.
Finally, Savaşan said, ”We wish a world free from war and violence, where humane living conditions and equality will prevail, and we congratulate the March 8 International Women's Day of women laborers in particular, our mothers and all women in general.”.
